Yes, both you and your allies can and will trigger placed landmines, UNLESS you all have read the book called "Urban Combat - Vol. 5 Land Mines won't detonate when stepped on"

I think, keyword think, this even includes mines placed inside you and your allies Green Zone Land Claim Block area.

Buttom line:
You and your allies must read the book Urban Combat Vol. 5 to not trigger and take damage/get killed by landmines. After you read the book there is not a landmine in the whole world that will damage you when stepped on, unless you shoot it / blow it up standing near it.

Happy fortifying!

:)

Great thanks for the input! I will have to be careful with mines then! Thanks!

Good gravy Miss Daisy; the answer is yes. Actually, a friend of mine laid a bevy of landmines near the base; forgot where they were, and ended up killing himself. It's not just allies, but the trap layer as well. I personally detest using anything stronger than a contact grenade mostly because the damage to the surrounding terrain mixed with the danger of forgetting or triggering them by accident.
