Do I have to raise the Tier of the quests with each Trader?
I have realized that if I try to do a quest with another Trader I have to start from Tier 1 (with that Trader)... what?

Currently I have already reached Tier 5 quests in the first Trader, now do I have to start Tier 1 quests to get to Tier 5 in other Traders? Am I wrong, is it a bug or is this really done like this? I don't understand why I have to keep spending hours doing Tier 1, 2, 3, and 4 quests when the game should know that I'm already on Tier 5 quests (and there's no point in doing Tier 1 quests). This in Alpha 19 didn't happen (because it basically doesn't make sense for it to happen), why have they done it like this?

yep, you need to raise the tier for each trader now.

I would love to understand who thought it would be a good idea to force you to do Tier 1 quests with other Traders after reaching Tier 5 with a Trader ...

Same as gaining reputation in many other games. Rekt wont give a ♥♥♥♥ about how good your reputation is with Jen.

They had to figure a way to keep ya more busy in the game cause there isnt actually much to do in the first place so they stretched it out.

But the funny part about this is they are all called Trader Joes not Trader Jen or Trader Rekt and those in the Traders like Rekt and Jen i see as just employees of the establishment. So the point made as to why should you have to do quest for each one is a valid point .

severely annoying.

I actually like this update. A19 and earlier, I normally would have one Base going on in the game and doing quests around the map.

Now what I am doing is setting up additional bases around the map (ones I build, not POIs to prevent sleeper spawning) with some general workstations and storage and camping out in a city for a week instead of going back and forth.

It feels more adventurous and with how dense some of these cities are, a reason to explore and be spoiled for choices.

I might even make seperate horde bases in the future.

Lack of communication ability between encampments probably. Jen laments the fact we don't even have clocks. How is she going to call ahead to Rekt or Joel like "Yo, heads up! Got a guy comin your way".

Given some of her other lines, I bet TJ's is just the Dukes money making operation and their word to one another really doesn't mean jack since they're all getting fleeced.

She gets lonely sitting there all day.
Plus, sheeeeeees a doctor. She's got rounds to do in the evening. Can't be gallivanting around the map like a vagabond reporting on every wandering scamp that drags itself across her threshold.

Then make it so each trader has its own rep so that you can still do tier 5 quests with every trader. To me there is no incentive to go around 5 traders getting them all up to tier 5 quests when they should all scale with each other. It’s not hard just to make it so each trader has a separate rep from quests

No, you can ignore traders completely once you have a water purifier =)

This thread began three years ago in regards to an earlier version of the game. In the current version of the game you do still have to start over with T1 quests when you find a new trader.

And, 'Trader Joes' is a Franchise name... like McDonalds. Each Trader Joe's is owned by a different person--same as any McDonalds is. They just pay a Franchise fee and get their products through the same suppliers. So, just as mentioned by someone else... much like a 'reputation' system... each owner at each Trader Joe's requires you to prove your worth. I always felt like it makes much more sense and was a good change for the game. Being able to go anywhere in the world and automatically having super reputation (Tier V quests) with any Retailer... just isn't logical. Besides, gives you more places to start over again without having to wipe your save and start over literally.
