No tree falling animation

After the update the trees I cut down have no falling tree sound effect, no animation. The tree just vanishes when I cut it down. Still get seeds and resources but just no animation and sounds. Anyone else have this issue?
I get this message in the logs:

Nope ..my trees still fall audibly and then fade out in to the ether

Odd, the animations work now. Maybe the trees in that area spawned below the ground mesh or something.
