Not that big a deal to me. but I get it.
You create those weapons 1 time so is it really a big deal?
And points into shotguns or anything like that don't affect the time on the workbench.
sniper rifle, smg, desert vulture, m60 and auto shotgun.
The damage variety is a lot smaller as in A20 and before. So building them once is enough except for those max-player where everything needs to be super-ultimate-maxed ;-)
Distract yourself with mining or building for a bit and you'll have your item before you know it.
so annoying but not unreasonable. what is anouying is how useless augers are now. unless you just want screamers and nothing else. then its really good.
I do the same thing with SMGs, short bursts, right to the face, you can take out a huge number of zombies with just one mag if you can aim. Maybe that's the issue there...
But yeah, the AK is pistol tier. There's a tactical AR-15 style gun after that and the top tier one is an M60. With how damage typically scales, I struggle to see a point to the sniper rifle classification as crossbows deal close enough damage, have better ammo types and better sneak damage multiplier. There's no real purpose to the sniper weapons if you ask me. One of the machine gun tier weapons does things better.
as for ammo amount this version, yes ammo is freaking everywhere. its to the point im getting less worried about screamers because i have ammo to spare. but i have been playing 7d2d off and on since steam early access started.
i just got the high teir machine gun (forgot designation/name) and am about to see how much of my 2 storage chest worth of 762 i can go through on horde night. also while typing i remembered now we can upgrade storage so probably didnt need two.
I will say it is a lot of fun to sit on top of a base and snipe wandering zombies, and it's also a useful tool for hunting if you don't want to scare the animal away, or you just want to explode the head of a zombie bear from a safe distance. I'd never use a sniper in any POI though, and never during a horde night defending my base.
Sure, you can get the same effect from eating stale bread as you would nice fluffy garlic bread, but the difference is preference. It exists as an option for those who do enjoy it. If you don't like stale bread, make some garlic bread. The world is your oyster.
