Open The map viewer in chrome on one side of your screen, and open the world folder on the other.

Then select all the files in the world folder, and drag them over to chrome

Clicking "Show Terrain" on the right will bring up a topographic view

Anyone know why the Random Gen Previewer we have now is simply just another way to create a new RNG map but to look at it too? There's no actual way to "preview maps," hence the name. You can only look at the maps you JUST created from that menu, and never again once you leave it. (It's always been this way as I remember.)

Instead you're left with a biome bitmap. I could of sworn a few alphas ago we also had a file that showed the roads and POIs, but now even that's gone. (Or at least it's no longer an image you can just open.) Instead we only have 3rd party options.

Does this site still work in the current Alpha?
I'm pretty sure I've found the world file, but it has none of the files that the site is asking for(ex: it asks for biome.png but I have biome.xml)

It should still work in A21.

I'll let you know if it works after 1.0, that is if the over-active, generic steam moderators don't lock this "for being an old thread". I'm looking at you Steve...

works for 1.0 to a extend the poi's are wrong in many places but the biomes seem right

The poi's get new code identifiers when they add / subtract poi's from the data table / list. So, it's likely to keep changing in the future too. Hopefully someday, the person creating that map viewer will update it to work correctly (for id'ing poi's) maybe after the devs are finally happy with their POI's list. It would also be nice if they made it work in other browsers... not everyone wants to install the Chrome browser. We'll see what the future holds eventually I guess. Fingers crossed cuz I like that viewer.
