Let's say you put 2 points into Strength. Put the +1 strength cigar into your helmet, so your strength becomes 3. You raise the skill for Heavy Armour to 2 points. Then you remove the Cigar mod, and check your Heavy Armour skill again. You will notice the second tier has a red check mark. This means your Heavy Armour skill is effectively tier 1.
There is no way to play the system, the attributes need to hit the required minimum at all times for the skill to work. What I like to do is get 5 strenght and use the Cigar + Strenght mod to save 4 skill points in order to get the mining skills. Really unfortunate that every build basically has to force themselves into strength to make mining not a tedious chore.
Yes, very unfortunate which is why I use mods.
Now I can actually invest 0 points into Strength but still one shot ores due to the armor mod i'm using.
It's nice being able to specialize in a specific build and just use armors to do the niche things like salvaging and mining without needing to put points into those perks.
Spill the sweet beans my man, what mod do you use for mining? Also, do you use anything to adjust the obnoxious zombie sounds? I can't play the game on normal volume because the zombie growls and hisses are so stupid loud.
