So yeah, they seem very rare. But i found a ton of honey, have like 25+ in my storage chest so that balances it. As long as you always carry some with you to nip those infections right at the start its not a problem.
Probably you are playing on a higher diff or with other mods now?
When I move between areas I try to destroy every tree stump I see since that honey is so important.
I probably get ~4 honey for every that I use so it is not a problem but easy to get infected and they are basically the only way to cure it. I think 1 honey cost 240 from trader which is almost free (I think a quest gives like 800 although scaling with type/difficulty so more/less), limited by how fast they restock tho, I think they have ~3 in stock.
I am not sure but it might be loot stage related, we might see antibiotics at higher loot stage but not sure. I think I started seeing herbal antibiotics after loot stage raised a little, could be a coincidence, seems reasonable that better ones are at higher loot stage.
I think we've just been really unlucky because we both got infected early then had a big dry spell on finding honey, so the infection got too high and now it's a losing battle.
No mods.
Yeah I get that, but not much use if the honey doesn't drop much and meanwhile the infection is getting out of control. As I said already we were getting lots of stumps but we had a huge unlucky dry spell of no honey. Then the zero antibiotics only exacerbated the problem.
