I didn't start to get screamers around my base until I built a horde night tower and placed 10 torches at various spots around it. I had a chemistry station, 3 forges and 4 campfires in my live-in base and never saw any until the torches went up...who knows.

If your “heat” lvl is too high, a screamer will come. Becareful when using these to farm xp, their more dangerous than before. In a18, 3 was the most you can get out from 1 screamer. In a19, it can climb to at least 6-7.

I have seen one; they are there. They may be on a higher game-state spawn table - not sure.

I saw some in b153 haven't ran into one since, but I'm one of those single forge players till really late game.

I built a screamer xp farming pit 2 days ago. Managed to catch 3 screamers and had an endless supply of zombies to farm.

Thank you "Armoredsaint" and "AquaX": now I know why I have Screamer hordes almost everyday- sometimes I've got 20-30 Z's along with the Screamers. Probably due to each Screamer attracting her requisite 6-7.

Because I have my place "InYourFace" lit up. It's quite the challenge. But it plays hell with your Arrow and Ammo supply. First time it happened I was battling that group for 10 hours.

The main base on our server, when going full tilt, gets a screamer every 5 minutes, at least. So they are not removed, you are just lucky with the amount of activity.

I farm screamers nonstop in A19. Just takes about 18 forges going to get them rolling tho...

Use an augur for mining. They'll come around every couple minutes. My first attempt, I built a wall around the area I was going to mine, just to give me a little heads up when the zeds arrived. First one was a Screamer, and when the horde finally broke through my wall, it was as if an entire 7 Day horde dropped on my head.

Now I make sure to pause every now and again when I'm mining to listen for that voice. Last mining run I did, I mined up around 40k steel and had to kill 8 Screamers during that time.

You don't even need an auger, they spawn even if you mine metal with iron pickaxe. Breaking iron/lead spawns them like crazy.
