What device are you using? Are you playing solo or multiplayer? Do you have mods installed? Are you sure? (since most people dont know)?
I wish people would skip the preambles and just post a log file or atleast tell us what they are using. This would save alot of time on guessing.
It's not a rifle, it's a submachine turret. When you press and hold the E key, the option does not appear, it opens the content directly.
To be fair, you DID call it a "rifle turret".
I'm about 99.9% sure that you are using a mod. In which case, you need to either say what mod or mods you are using, so that people using the same can help you. Or find who made the mod and go directly to the source for answers.
SMG Auto Turret - submachine gun
And probably what God Bless said. You need a land claim block to pick things up. If you have one, the turret might be out of its range. You can click on the block and "Activate" it which turns on a green box to show the borders. That's only for a visual indication, you don't need to leave it activated.
Edit: If the turret is out of the LCB range, you can increase that in the game settings when you load the save with "Claim Size" on the multiplayer tab. Or you can place another LCB to cover more area.
I looked in-game and this was the problem. Thank you very much :)
