You can't get murky jars from a river, but you can fill a bucket to create water elsewhere (It pours out into 4 water blocks and refills using 3 of them (you could drink from the block left over)). I haven't checked, but I think all Murky Water recipes were changed to clean Water, so you're expected to use Dew Collectors to collect Water. Personally, I always save the jarred water I find for recipes and just drink from the gutter to keep hydrated. You get Dysentery, but that doesn't do much so I ignore it without noticeable penalty.

For some strange reason, jars were removed from the game.

This.

I think they should also allow Cans to be utilzed to collect water as well as jars - I mean they hold liquid (no need to add 'can boil water in the cans' but it would be realistic to allow so).

I personally liked the 'drink-water=empty-jar' realism (and scrapping an empty jar = broken glass).

Not sure why they would take these sort of things out...

It used to be a thing. We could fill empty cans and boil them as a day 1 last mean of survival.

Thanks for the info - I am sorry to all, including devs, I have no idea how hard it is to put things into a game or balance the game and make it 'scary' yet 'not too hard' and still be 'survival', etc etc

I just shooting out ideas
peace to all
