How to play in offline mode?

Hi,

I'm currently downloading something on steam and I want to play 7DaystoDie in the meanwhile. But since this game is online won't it interfere with my download speed?

Just start a new game, change the settings to whatever you want, 1 player can only join etc, and the game saves on your PC, not the steam cloud, so playing offline is fine.

You don't actually need to be in 'Offline' mode. As long as your settings are setup for Solo / Single Player, the game shouldn't really be interfering with downloads. However, you should check your steam settings and game's 'properties' settings to be sure they are set to 'allow background downloads' while playing the game.

In the top left hand corner of the main steam window (not the game) - where the steam menu is for (Steam, View, Friends,Games etc)
Select Steam->Go Offline
Now when you start 7dtd you will see a message about 'unable to connect' = press the 'Play Offline' option.
WARNING: If you start and play offline - then at some point play online, it can screw up you profile/game - something to do with the online ID or Profile gets reset.
Playing offline stops game stats from being collected but it also means that Steam doesnt record you playing time for total hours played of the game.
