Electric Steel Garage Door
Why does my electric steel garage door never open? I've seen the same garage door when I'm on my travels while looting and those work. Why doesn't mine? Thanks.

There's two versions of the garage door; An electric version, and a normal version.

The normal version is E to interact, this is the kind you'll see in a POI.

The electric version must be, yknow, wired electrically; It must receive power and some form of signal to change states; so you must have some form of power to provide, and a switch or pressure plate or something to act as the signal change.

I have a generator, an electric wire relay and two sensor camera and I connected the wires and nothing works. If I have the wrong door, then I wonder why is that door in the game when it can't be opened? At the same time I wonder how I can open the same type of door when I find a garage on my travels.

What do you mean by "yknow"?

"yknow" is short for "you know", probably an American english thing.

When you wire the door it should be generator -> motion sensor one side -> motion sensor other side -> door. No relays between motion sensors.

Edit: the doors that you can open in POIs are usually a part of a mission there, and are operated by a switch.

My relay is in my garage one block space away from the garage door and two block spaces away is my generator. At the top of my garage door right in the middle at the inside and the outside is my sensors.

I watched a You Tube video and I did what somebody else did except his wires show and mine don't and my character snipped at the wires like the person's character did in the video. As I write this, I wonder why my wires don't show that could be the problem.

It's not clear where in your wiring the relay is. What's important is there can only be wire between the two motion sensors, a direct connection. If you're familiar with logic gates, sensor->sensor is an OR, but sensor->relay->sensor is an AND. That's tfp electrical logic.

As for the invisible wires, hiding wires when not holding the tool was added in A21, so the video is probably from an earlier alpha. People didn't like ugly wires strung all over their buildings.

How do I post a photo in here? I want to show you how I set mine up.

I started thinking about the outside sensor that I forgot to wire and there is no way I can wire it. At the same time, the sensor inside my garage, I wired that and it doesn't work.

I saw the video in Alpha 21. I'm playing the game about two versions behind because when I started playing this game again when my game was out-of-date by two versions, my world wouldn't load so I had to reverse my version back two Alphas to get access to my game.

As I mentioned before twice. How come when I've been on my travels looting, I've come across some garages with the same door that I'm using and those garage doors open and close without power. I use an Xbox and PC controller and I got the Y button option to open and close those doors. The other day I went to a couple of buttons in my garage where one is red and one is green and I got the option to press the Y button and it never shows anymore. That option appeared because I got out my generator, sensors and my relay. I don't know what is going on?

There is a guide on posting screenshots here, that I think is mostly still accurate.

I mentioned above some doors are used in missions. Not all doors though. Some doors you can just open by clicking on them. Some you need to press a button during a mission. Some are not meant to open ever. And some that should work with buttons are broken and don't work. When someone designs a POI they can set whether a door is usable, or just a barrier to make you follow a certain path. The same with locked regular doors, it's to give you a path to follow to the end loot room.

Also dont forget to go in the cam's settings, and set it to open only for you.... and allies...
and the time it should activate the door open and close...

I would recommend that you wire a light to your power source, so you can make sure that your power source is turned on.

On youtube are some videos explaining it very nicely...once you see and know, you go brag ;)

I got the door working, thanks.

I had already done that. I found out how to work it. I attached a wire to the door. I wonder why the sensors never work. I set the settings the way somebody else has and my sensors are as dead as Adolf Hitler.
