are safes worth it early game?
Is the time investment to break open a safe early game even worth it? when I do even with lucky looter up I don't get anything really that nice in them it doesn't seem worth it early game.

You already answered your own question...

In my opinion the more difficult-to-open containers should have something like a Gamestage Bonus, so that if you invest your time there, at least it won't be totaly worthless.

All depends of your build and the safe you want to open, if you invested in strength and have the more dmg perk with stone axe, miner69? dont remember the other, maybe its worth it, and no question if the safe is in the treasure room, always worth it to break, 7000 hp isnt very much.

I don't even break 'em open in early game. I just mark 'em on the map, go about my day and come back to them later around day 6 or 7. This saves me from spending 10 minutes beating into it with a stone axe and it also allows me to raise my loot stage to get a better return.

Did you guys forget about jail breaker candies? I do what James does, I document where things are. Then when most of the town is covered and before the first BM I run around with a mega crush and a lockpick candy. Then surprise! I have enough cash, ammo, and possibly some guns to get me by until I find enough magazines to craft anything decades later.

I'm really liking dense city maps people are using lately on public servers. magazines are non issue there. Not to mention many more cop cars and atms. :cozybethesda:

People often overlook parking meters for iron and dukes in cities 😉

I generally take the time to open the safes as I find them most of the time. Yeah, takes forever but I play slow paced, no rush to level up games.

I believe the parking meters only give you a few coins, like 13 max? I save my wrench for electrical parts that add up for a lot of coin, or important materials.

One reason for opening safes early game is that once it's opened and looted you can then wrench it for forged iron, springs and mechanical parts. Gun safes also give steel.

Been a while since I've done it, but yeah, not alot of dukes but it adds up early days....and perhaps its pipes and mechanical parts it gives you, hm. I will try it out after work 😆

there are better objects. Petrol stations or broken vending machines.

In the early game (with only a few lock picks) only T4 and T5 chests or ATMs (police car idk) make sense to open. to break it open...i would say only T4 or T5 chests above night but never a safe (only if you dont have anything else to do).

You only need one lockpick, as long as you have candy :cozybethesda:
