awareness meter
can we please have the player awareness also affect if there is a wall between the enemy? like if you are in an underground hidden bunker, a zombie shouldn't be attracted to you because you had an 87 times brightness multiplier flashlight, or a zombie shouldn't be able to see you if it is on the other side of a wall. if i were to spawn a zombie outside, and i have no ways light can get in or out of my base, and i proceed to make the base brighter than the sun, the zombie will be aware of the light. this just be annoying fr

Light doesn't affect your stealth level unless the zombies have line of sight. They do have excellent hearing and will detect you through walls and rock. Turning on a switch for the lights will alert them.

OHHH ok i guess i just got confused because i thought the stealth level meant anything in your proximity could be alerted despite no visible light for example

The stealth meter can be a bit misleading. Basically, it's just measuring (and reporting) how well you are hidden, NOT how much you are being detected. So, light source makes you 'less hidden' so the number goes higher. That doesn't mean you are actually being detected. You can experiment with it and see for yourself. Get to an area where there is no zombies at all and play with stealth. Your meter will raise and lower depending on your activity. Light source bumps up that meter even though there aren't any entities around to detect you. People think of it as a 'detection' meter when really it is just metering how well hidden you are.

Yeah, "stealth level" was not a good choice of words, but I was trying to be brief. Light absolutely affects your stealth meter value but has no effect if you can't be seen. If you've played Valheim that game has a mechanic where if you sneak there is an eyeball icon that shows if anything is aware of your presence. That's not available in 7DtD outside of debug mode. In DM you can display zombie behavior and see if they are just wandering, or investigating, or they know where you are and coming for you. Lights on or off makes no difference if they don't have line of sight. But any little noise and they start searching.
