Gas can usage. Am i missing something?
Fairly new player here, bear with me.

Finally built a motorcycle, time to fill the tank.
Directly put the reserve tank mod in.

Seeing i got me a whopping 800 something gas cans i wondered how many refills that may be.

Well, guess what. It took all of it, and got me to 18%.
What kind of mockery is this?

What measurement is that one gas can? A drop? Milliliter?
Is it really so far off balanced? I'd need to dismantle every car in town to fill that one tank?

Any way to obtain gas in a significant amount?

Mine Oil Shale (Desert biome only) and convert it to Gas in the Chem Station. Every 1 Shale becomes 10 Gas.

Another thing to keep in mind is that the Reserve Tank mod just increases the gas capacity, it doesn't make it more efficient or anything. If you hadn't put it in, then instead of 18% full, it might have read about 25% full. Maybe keep an eye out for the Fuel Saver mod.

Desert, mkay. Not been there yet, just had a mission for the wasteland trader.
I'll keep an eye out. Sadly i'm far off being able to craft the fuel saver mod, we'll see.

Maybe i'll get out the old bicycle and try to find the desert...

Thanks for clarifying, mate.

The gas can is just an abstraction of One unit of "gas".
It's not, sadly, an actual Gas Can. :DeadSmile1:

For my A21 playthrough, I saved up all the gas I got from harvesting cars, and used it in the minibike to go looking for the desert. Once you find the desert you have unlimited gas. Like mine one oil shale patch for a day, and come back to your base without enough gas to waste on the 4x4 for 100 days. The trick is to not use up your early game gas doing little nearby missions, and save it for one b2 day exploratory ride around the map.

Clearly isn't, just thought the numbers are way weirder than they had to be.
When dumping 800 something results in 18% with an extended tank,
what amount do i have to picture when looting a gas pump nets me like 30 'units'?
It wouldn't even be the equivalent to a glass of water, oi. Seems strange to me.
Irritating.

Aye, that's what i did. Didn't use the minibike often after i saw the gas usage. Reverted to the bicycle. The motorbike, i didn't even try it yet. After the next hoardnight i may do some exploration trip to find that desert, got enough resources to stay out for weeks if needed.
