2: In game press F1 and type DM, followed by enter key, hit esc. Open map and hold ctrl and right click anywhere on map not in the current area. Shut game down and restart. Hopefully it will clear the bug.
For future reference :
3: If 2 no go and you havent started building a base or anything go into users AppData\Roaming\7DaysToDie\Saves. Go into generated world map you were playing and enter the folder called region. Delete all files found here.
This should clear any thing iffy with the map ... for now. You will lose anything player built doing this.
You'll also find in the "generated world folder", another folder for Player ... sometimes players profile can be damaged. If unable to resolve using method 2, then simply delete the data in that folder (player). Upon restarting the game you'll be asked to create a new player profile. You can use F1 and CM to spawn back in items lost ... I highly recommend not spawning in anything else as it will spoil the enjoyment of the game.
It is recommended that this world saved folder be backed up once every 2 hours ... Should it strike again you can roll back the game and not lose everything and have to start from scratch.
