What are mining boulders?
Edit, you mean those big rocks? I know those yes
Not all of these gravel spots have deposits under it. Remember to follow gravel lines and do not mine rock. Mining rock is not needed while doing this method.
This is good but i would also like to say that to find the most lead your going to need to go a pine or maple. Forest i'm not sure which one was taking with this alpha and go to around near bedrock and you should. Find tons of iron and lead there as it's the predominate ore in that biome for info look in the wiki for specifics and also please note this could be old info.
Mining was a lot different in 2019. If you're not asking about mining in an old alpha it would be better to start a new topic.
ignoring the fact you rezzed a 5 yr old thread.... and ore distribution has changed considerably in that time: it no longer matters.
Just look for silverish grey, cuboid nodes on the surface in any biome, then dig down. You'll be swimming (metaphorically speaking) in lead.
