This may change when electricity is added in future builds.
There are mods available that allow you place "active" light fixtures, but in vanilla it's pretty well reserved for pregenerated fixtures only (think battery back-up, for now).
It is not necessary to have ventilation, The vents and ductwork items are there for aesthetics.
Ok thanks, i can stop wasting time. But i will say I took over that strange bunker in the small town that has the 4 strange metal structers that tower up into the air and, I did place a bunch of lights on the ceiling and there is one that actually worked but 99.9 % didn't. So I thought i was doing something wrong.
What is the Mod for lighting and where do i get it? I noticed that for what ever reason there is no mod area on Steam for 7 Days To Die.
Most are Q&A, but the ones that have [MOD] are actually refering to mods that users have already made for use. not every one has the same features or tweaks, so you would have to review the comments and description to find the mod that suits your playstyle.
Also you can post or search topics on how to achieve a specific result within the game, if one is not already premade.
also you can check the official forums for additional mods
