Lightning in Burnt Forest
I don't know if lightning does damage but here is three exemples that make me think it actually does:

1. I was traveling on foot, see 6 burnt Zombies, say yes free kills, then lightning light and sound then all of them are dead.

2. Rainy day my forge was refining some materails then ligthning and my forge was destroyed leaving a small pile of destroyed stone

3. My balcony destroyed by lightning 2 times and one in front of my annoyed face

Should I beleave lightning hit hard or not ? Let me know...

Is this a 17.3 thing or are you using some mods?? Never seen or heard of any lightning and i lived in the burnt forest for a long time.

What game are you playing, doesn't sound like 7 days to die vanilla to me.

If you are playing a modded game, it helps if you mention it at some point.

Zombies can time out and fall over dead, a way to clean up those zombies you activate but did not deal with or even see.
Never in hundred of hours even on a horde every night (lots of lightning ) ever seen block damage from the storms.
So i have no idea what your encountering but Lightning has nothing to do with it.

They got rid of the lightning suit in Alpha 17; they replaced it with the "lightning and thunder mod," which is placed in your elbow armor. However, it's player-level locked at level 275—so it could take awhile to get it (unless you can find the "player-level" unlock mod). The recipe requires 15 buzzard teeth, so make sure you manually remove them with the dental extraction drill before you cut them up for the feathers.

In the meantime, you could place two electric fence posts in a ditch 1 block wide, 15 blocks long, and 10 blocks deep. Once the fence posts are inserted at both ends of the ditch, fill it with water using the brown coffee mug. Power the fence posts with 1x level six battery and a bucket of fish. This can only be done in the rain forest biome.

The next time there's a storm, the lightning will be attracted to the electrocuted water and it will fry the fish. Shazam... free food. All you need now is tartar sauce, which you can buy from the trader for 500 dukes & a titanium ax blade.

WARNING: Stay away from the battery during thunderstorms & bury it under at least 3 blocks of irradiated concrete; if you don't, it could ignite and explode & the battery acid will literally melt the entire map (it's a new bug)!
