Automatic weapon's handbook volume 2
says each shot deals 1% more damage per hit on "fully automatic mode".
its not really specific.. is it.. automatic weapons deal 1% more damage per shot. period? or is it "holding down the trigger deals 1% more damage per shot"?
can I just make sure I dont miss and tap fire until I do absurd damage? or does it reset on release from the trigger?
the wiki is horribly underdevelopped in that regard of details.
actually the wiki has no details on any page at all. only parroting in game descriptions of existing functions.

It's exactly what it says. Weapons in Fully Automatic mode do 1% more damage per hit until you miss

That means equipping your AK-47, which is fully automatic mode by default with the Semi Auto or Burst Fire weapon mods will prevent that benefit from activating- You've taken it out of Full Auto and into Burst/Semi auto.

It also means that the Tactical Assault Rifle will NOT benefit from AW volume 2 unless it has been equipped with a full auto weapon mod, since the tac rifle is by default a burst fire weapon.

in what case does the damage bonus expire?
release of the trigger? or strictly ONLY after a miss?

does it expire if you switch off of it? so many questions regarding the maintenance of that buff

It only adds up 'while' you are holding the trigger. Once you release the trigger, it starts over. Unless you miss (go off target) while firing....then it starts over. And, that's pretty easy to happen since auto fire gives kickback and makes your aim wander.

My mind is blown.

How long has the Tac been in game? It's my go to weapon every playthrough and I've done a fair few playthroughs since it was intro'd and I never knew it was burst by default until I read this.

Odd though, is the fact all this time I've been firing it semi-auto with just single mouse clicks. To my mind, a single click oughtta trigger (heh) the burst...and requiring me to add the semi-auto mod in order to fire it...semi-auto.
