Help setting up a server
I am trying to set up a server on a VM i have set up.
I have port forwarding set up to the server(ports 26900-26903/tcp,udp.
I am using Linuxgsm to set up the server.
My server OS is Alma Linux.

I am unable to connect to the server.
When I check the server it seems like none of the game ports are listening. Only ports 8080 and 8081.

Any suggestions that could help?

Well....I do believe using a VM will kill your client connection reliability and speed. Aside from that...not sure what exactly you have going on there. Is your Internet service hidden behind a VPN? That'll cause issues too.

Thank you for the suggestions but I was able to set up minecraft servers on another VM on this machine, with no issues, so that does not seem to be the issue.

I'm sorry I can't be of more help atm, but I can say that I'm running a server on a VM Linux without issues. I'll look into it when I'm sober. :D

But off the top of my head, I *think* you're missing a port or two. But I can't be sure. Check the open-port requirements again.

Thank you for your input. I tried opening and port forwarding 8080-8081, 27015, and 27031-27036. Unfortunately that did not seem to work.

I haven't successfully set up a server, but I looked into it a couple years ago, and one of the things I remember reading was that one of the steam protocols (steam chat?) should be disabled on Servers. It's just something to consider I guess, best of luck.

I believe it's port 26900 that you need to port forward.
