How to Allocate More Memory to 7 Days to Die?
I don't know why but even with the settings as low as lower can be I'm still having some lag. It seems Memory Leak, I have to reinstall the PC every single time after playing 7 Days to Die because I can do nothing after it.

I don't know how much the game is using but I think my spec should deal with the game:
Intel Core i7 Haswell - 4700MQ 2.4 GHz, 6MB Cache (3.40 GHz com Max Turbo)
8 GB DDR3 (1600 MHZ) / ( 2x 4 GB)
Nvidia GeForce GTX 770M GPU com 3GB Video Dedicado

My main issue right now is about exploring the world. If I stay still in a single village/ town / city I haven't this issue, but as soon I start to unlock the mapa further the spawn point, discovering cities and traders, my game lags more and more.

When I start I did discover 3 cities close each other, but none with those big buildings, only small houses and 3 floor buildings. I manage to discover some Traders as well, but once I decided to leave that area to find a new spot, this is happening.

Any idea to decrese this issue? Or at least allocate more memory to the game?

8GB of RAM is the absolute minimum for this game but even people with high-end rigs and ample RAM have issues with lag and micro-stuttering. Part of this is because optimization has not yet occured (gets done during the beta phase) but the bigger issue is just the nature of the game. A fully-destructible world with randomly generated maps uses A LOT of memory for calculations and rendering.

Ch53dVet gave a good description for memory usage:

"Long periods of play ='s increased memory usage over time and page file is opening and closing to convert HD space into temp virtual memory, if page file setting is "dynamic" instead of "Static". (opens and closes as needed vs permanent HD size allocated in case it's needed) When memory usage becomes to great expect problems to occur when exiting the game. Long periods of play needs to be broken up every so often to re-allocate used memory back into the pool, moreso, if using the basic memory required to play the game.

Never preview a map and then go straight into a game. Previewed maps have a problem giving back the incredible amount of ram they use in creating a preview. I've seen some maps use as much as 16gbs of ram creating a stage 4 preview.

New games you start, w/o previewing, also need a lot of memory to initially create the map you want to play on. Sometimes, it's necessary and wise, if you have the basic req amount of memory, to create a new game, then exit 7d2d and steam, re-enter and play the game just to be on the safe side of recovering stubborn memory that doesn't want to be re-allocated."

I'm also playing this game with only 8GB of ram. I log off every couple of hours or so to prevent major lag/crashing. If I explore a lot of the map at once, the lag definitely gets worse.

Some things that may help performance (as suggested by others):

- disable Voice Chat and UNET
- make sure UMA is set to lowest
- turn off SSAO, Motion Blur, Reflective Shadows, VSync and Reflections

As for re-allocating memory, aside from the above info that I stole from others...I'm not sure.

Someone else might have some other suggestions.

apart from what information karma has provided you should also note that laptop specs are completely different from desktop specs.

this game relies heavily on cpu power and Storage Disk speed. a laptop cpu is far weaker than its desktop counterpart so you are lacking in processing power in that area.

things you can try to do are turn off any power saving features and play with the laptop plugged in to give the cpu all the power it can get. also disable or shutdown any unecessary background programs\services while running the game.

if you dont have an ssd for a games drive i would suggest getting one

most laptops can be upgraded with more memory and you couyld add an additional 8gb for a reasonable price and its usually easy to do. 8gb is just not enough for this game

your graphics adapter is on par with a desktop gtx 560 which will also be a struggle to maintain a good playable experience

Yeah, you would need more RAM to be able to allocate more to the game. Your issue is most likely that you've run out of RAM and the game is having to use the pagefile, which is on your slow hard drive. When that happens, FPS tanks.

And yeah, the CPU is capable, but when it gets worked hard by the game it heats up, and the laptop drops the speed of it to help cool it down. Which tanks your FPS.

Your GPU is near the absolute minimum of what's required for this game. It's more VRAM than it needs for the tier GPU it is, which is odd. Either way though, that's not doing you any favors either.

If you strip all extra processes that are running, add additional cooling, and could possibly overclock, you might get a better experience. It's not going to be by much though.

Your best bet is to run with min settings and a resolution like 720p.

Thanks, I forgot about resolution. I'm playing at 1920x1080, I should reduce that to increase performance.

i run it with a gf 570 gtx. no issues beside gameengine things . lights and shadows are a mess sometimes.
