Question regarding trader locations
So I recently came back to play A19 and been having a blast, however I seem unable to find traders locations so far. My quest for finding my first trader indicates I still haven't come across any and I am unable to collect completed quests.

I disabled the Blood moons on my game as I wanted to explore without having to build a strong base for horde night, is that what is preventing trader locations to appear? or am I just unlucky and need to keep searching?

I already have a minibike and have explored quite a big portion of the map but haven't come across one yet.

First thing I'd do is check to see if there are any traders on your map at all. Find your world in your save folder/GeneratedWorlds/worldname. Open the file prefabs.xml in notepad or other text editor and search for trader. If you find any, these will show the map coordinates of the trader in an x.y,z format. The middle number is elevation. You can then use that location and the in-game map to see where they are.

The trader quest gives a marker to follow to the closest trader to you at the time it was activated.

If there is no marker then my only guess is; Are you playing on a small sized random gen map?
The starting quest should lead you to the first/nearest Forest Biome trader. If that's not working, it's probably because you used a RandomWorldGeneration Map that was created on a previous Alpha/version which can result in a no-trader glitch.

Your NoHorde settings isn't the cause of any problems...so no worries there.

Can you confirm/deny if the starting quests successfully lead to a trader or a blank spot of the map?

If it turns out there's no trader at the quest location, then you'll need to start a fresh map, sadly.
The best way to avoid this (assuming you aren't also trying to keep and replay a very old save from a previous major alpha version) is to delete old maps...this is an option in the game's Launcher if you don't want to delete the files manually.
You can also avoid it by making sure you generate a new map (or use Nav/Pregen1/2/3) but deleting the old maps is safer because it avoids the potential of it happening again in the future if you forget.

You can mostly carry a lot of important character progress/XP/Skills/days-played over as well as important blocks/items by temporarily cheating them all in and then turning cheats back off...which doesn't mess with achievements (which is nice). But typically things you built in the map are toast whenever you restart on a new map...so that kinda sucks if you need to restart.

As mentioned by Amanoob there should be a compass marker for the first trader, if you completed all the starting tasks.

If you don't have a marker, then it is possible that the quest became deselected somehow in your quest list. If you unselect or cancel quest the compass marker for it will go away. You should check your quest list and right click the quest to go find the trader, and then make it active.
If you use the Kinggen generator to generate your map the generator produces a "Preview.jpg" all traders are colored in light blue and are really easy to find if you can read maps

I am playing in a small randomly generated map, the maps is new, I generated it on the same version of A19 I am currently playing (which is the current one) and I also am using a new character I also generated recently.

Is there a known issue with small maps? I believe its a 4k one which I believe is the smallest option for a map.

Thanks for the response.

I generated a new map and a new character when I downloaded the current version of A19 so I could avoid any glitch since I have read in the forums to always avoid doing that, even back in 2018 :P

I generated a small random map and once I got the trader quest I dont see any marker for, just a yellow message saying "location not found" which is why I assumed I had to explore on my own to activate the marker once I was near a trader zone.

Ok, this is a bit of a stab in the dark but from what I understand of how random maps work (and sometimes, don't work) is the number of traders can also get randomised that of the five standard traders it's possible to find more than that number resulting in doubles of some, or you can end up with less than that standard number.

So here's my guess at what happened based on my above understanding of how the random maps can turn out.
It's sounding like the game, somehow, didn't spawn any traders into your world. Hence why your trader quest can't find any of them to send you towards.

As for known issue? This is the first time I've seen mention of this exact thing happening so I really can't say.
Personally I'd suggest simply staying away from the random maps for now as they seem to have a fair list of problems to them.
You may have created a new map, but did you use the same name and seed as an earlier world? artifact files from the previous worlds and maps, unless you physically went in to wipe out the files and folders may still be interfering.

I dont think this is even the same machine I used when I originally played I had no save data when I downloaded the game and used a random seed and name.

Here is a picture of the trader quest message:

OK, got it.
I went through it and apparently they exist

I will try checking those coordinates and see if I actually find something.

Thanks for the tip
Hmm, that's not vanilla. War of the Walkers maybe?

Actually, I originally tried installing War on the walkers, but my machine would just go black and crash after trying to load, so I uninstalled all the mods and just played vanilla + Humans from the creature pack, maybe that is what caused my issue with the trader quest, I probably generated the map while having WotW as a mod, then removed it.

Yeah, seems like having the mod installed when generating the map funked the traders when I removed the mod, so where the traders should be there is only a big empty space perfect for a building.

I guess I will need to create a new map and start over. Thanks a bunch to everyone that replied.
