Ok, so, there's a rule (in this forum) of not resurrecting really old threads. In this case, 2 years is considered 'old' cuz the game versions change so much within that amount of time. Cuz of this, the data being discussed in an old thread is usually no longer accurate or relevant. As for your question being the same... since you're asking... that isn't the normal default respawn method the game uses... in my experience. In fact, if you do not drop a bedroll (following the starter tutorial / quest) and die, normally the game just respawns you somewhere randomly on the map. And, I've NEVER had it respawn me right where I died. My theory is somehow some settings were changed to create this behavior. You maybe able to fix this by running the 7d2d launcher.exe, going to 'Tools' tab, and doing the 'clean' option selecting the appropriate checkboxes to clean up old data and reset settings. Just be sure to NOT check the box for wiping map and save data... OR, back them up first and copy them back into place afterward.
I can confirm that this happened to me. It was satisfying, because I was able to get revenge on the zombie that killed me.
