Online would be letting your friends or random people join your game. ( Co-op not solo )
I suppose you could be playing solo on a dedicated server but im guessing that is not the case.
Defiantly not moving to an always online model.
Settings in the game for online, basically just open the door for people to join you in your map.
Perhaps you could restate your question if this didnt help you.
No I mean if you first create your solo save online you can't get the same save back when you try to load it offline. There is supposed to be some workaround for it. Or did they patch that?
Did you join a server from the list? That would be online, not really a save game on your computer.
Without some shenanigans characters are tied to the map you are playing on.
If you join a server running Pregen 8k it is not the "same" map as if YOU loaded up a game using Pregen 8k.
So when you say solo, im guessing you mean you created your own map. Which is saved on your computer offline.
So characters are saved to the server ( online ) and that servers map. OR Characters are saved to the map ( offine)

1, Right-click on "7 Days to Die" in Steam Library
Click on MANAGE, then "Browse Local Files"
Open platform.cfg, File should match this:
platform=Steam
crossplatform=
serverplatforms=Steam
Doing this will force Steam to only use the Steam ID save file.
2, To continue an Online game Offline:
Go to your "7 Days to Die" save location
C:\Users\<USERNAME>\AppData\Roaming\7DaysToDie\Saves\<MAP_NAME>\<SAVE_NAME>\Player
There are 6 files. The EOS ID files are your online saves, the Steam ID Files are your offline saves.
Make copies of the EOS ID .ttp and .map files, then rename them and replace the Steam ID files.
3, Congrats, you can now play your online game save offline or online, no more EOS.
WARNING: You will have to destroy your LCB, and break into your chests, because the game thinks you are a different player. When the game updates you will have to repeat step 1.
This answers one of my questions, but is this always going to be a thing from now on? That basically you are forced to play your entire save either completely online or completely offline unless resorting to this workaround?
Also my last question, if I make new game with a random map seed can I share it later online? I'm on Navezgane with this current save but I'm planning to do a random map for my next campaign and play it offline for the most part.
Yes, but you must share all Adv. Map Settings and cannot use the random terrain option.
So would I. Let's hope that the devs agree with that sentiment as much as we do.
If they fix the above then I'll just start off online with the seed as normal and then play it offline later without the workaround whenever I want. It will be probably be some time before I get bored with my current Navezgane save so I'll try and wait it out.
