RWG wasteland map help
Does anyone know what if any settings will get me a map with wasteland at least 70% of the map?

I've been playing with the RWG and i'm trying to get the largest possible wastelands to generate so that all the 4 & 5 POI's will be in them, since higher quality loot chances are there i don't see any reason to play in any other biome.

It seems to be weighted against having large waste land biomes, i've generated a dozen maps with desert usually being the largest area followed by forest then snow is slightly smaller then wasteland is tiny.

I've tried different world seeds and slider bars.

I've been enjoying a map that's 40% Badlands, 25% Snow, 25% Grass, 10% Desert.

Size = 6k
Seed ("Cowia Mountains")= "abcdefghijklmnopqrstuvwx"
GameVersion = Alpha.20.0.238

I can't find the details I used for the new A20 map-creation settings, but they don't seem to affect the Biome generation. I just recreated the map with these details, and the map-preview looked similar to what you'd want (some big cities in Wasteland):
Towns = Many
WildernesPOIs, Rivers = None
Craters, Cracks = Few
Lakes = Default
Plains, Hills, Mountains = 2
Random = 0

It looks like if you leave the Size, Seed, and Game Version, you can tweak the other details until you get a map you like while knowing the Biome layout won't change.

Once you've generated a map, give the preview window a minute to fully load the map, then you can fly around it with very high detail (drag right-mouse to aim yourself, w/s for forward/back (zoom-in/zoom-out if you're facing the ground), a/d to pan left/right). The preview has text for every building letting you know what it is (Traders are written in red text, so you can usually figure their locations even when zoomed-out)

Yeah, I noticed that today myself. Although for me it still worked in b328 using seeds I'd created in b231, but builds can change stuff like that at any time yup.

So if you get a biome layout you like but city placement/size sucks, just keep making maps with the same seed name but change the other parameters and see if cities/sizes change more to how you want. I found it was safer to delete the map from the generated map folder before recreating it again, otherwise the preview image may not draw in properly (sometimes it does, sometimes it didn't).

Anyway, TDM, you can also try:

huckleberry (6k size)
(map name should be OLD CODOLU COUNTY)

Many
Default
None
None
None
Many
8
2
0
0

...those settings = 4 large wasteland cities (no clue on POI tiers), a large forest city, and some small to mediumish desert towns, but the snow biome is ... well, almost empty of anything. Haha. You could try to fiddle with the plains and hills settings to alter things if you actually wanted something in snow biome.
