Horde Night Spawn Radius?
I have been scouring the internet trying to find a conclusive answer for this but I have seen so many varying responses and the 7d2d official page either doesn't have that info or it's buried in some obscure location that I can't seem to find.

What is the actual spawn radius of zombies on horde night and is there a way to prevent them from spawning inside a relatively large player built complex?

iirc, they dont spawn within 50 blocks of a player, so long as your structure can fit into this area while you are standing at any point within it, no zombies should spawn inside.

Ok thanks. I've read some people saying 50, some saying 40, some saying 30. Hard to tell what's what lol.

Some are also saying it depends on where your sleep roll is so, yeah....

According to vedui42's testing, all spawning is based on player position.

- Scout/Screamer = 70 to 100 blocks from player.
- Screamer spawned zombies = 45 to 55 blocks from player (still based on player position).
- Wandering horde = 80 to 100 blocks from player.
- Blood Moon = 30 to 50 blocks from player.

If you want to be 100% safe inside your base, then 30 is the max width you should build your base. If you can lock yourself to the center of your base during Blood Moon, then your base could be 60 wide - but if you move 1 tile, then you are probably dead. 30 blocks is the answer.

I thought the land claim block stopped them from spawning, so I'm screwed at with my 40 block base. I personally think a 30 block spawn distance is too close.

Yeah I saw that post but it looked a bit dated. Thank you for the pull up though. 30 is definitely way too small. Completely ruins the idea of base building for me in this game.

You could just, and I know this might sound crazy but, build two bases. One "safe house", and the other your future gravesite.

If you don't want the horde to destroy your hard work, just fight them somewhere else.

...this is why lots of people built towers instead of widespread castles, once.

Then zombies could dig, explode, all of that. Now people build two bases, maybe connecting them with long walkways. Or one base surrounded by mega deep trap filled pits maybe, and walkways. Or ...

...I've seen some pretty creative stuff over the years. None of it from me. But it's impressive what solutions people come up with, at times. :steamhappy:

is there a way to reduce the max range spawn or render of the Z's cause my pc can handle a bit the game but once i reach a big city mi pc decides to die (i know its because it loads more thing in big cities)

I agree, 30 blocks is a small radius. I built my base in a working Stiff's hardware store and learned how small it was on day 21.
