Wasteland is intended to be very difficult.
LOL , with this version think of the wasteland as top tier zone, snow is right under it, then desert, with forest at the bottom. starting with the forest and going up there is increased loot chance and increased difficulty. so if you went from forest to wasteland you jump bottom to top tier in difficulty and loot.
I suggest you stick it out, stay away from you're base, get better weaps and make as much noise at night as possible, since it is mini horde night every night, plenty of xp :P
Don't bother trying to do a poi between 2200 - 0400, just try for as much killing as possible, when it's over and they despawn then business as usual with poi and building.
I don't think they 0 in on you like horde zombies do.
No, you're just too low level.
In A20, after 6 attempts I can now last 1 night. With little to no armor, a bow and 50 arrows and maybe a pipe weapon, you just are no match for the non-stop swarms of zombie bears, zombie dogs, ferals and cops. Surviving the wasteland does not seem feasible early game, but it sure has been fun trying!
Good on you, Chad Chaddington, the Ereet Zombie Survivorman.
Well I wasn't really saying you should load the map up and go running there lol, I think they start sending you there on t4 missions, at that point if you aren't geared for it then no don't setup a base. BUT if you're geared and have the books/lucky looter setup for more ammo from loot and you have a crapton of ammo then yeah go , it's fun :P
We play with block damage maxed for zombies and when we found a place to clear out and start setting up suddenly like 3 zombie bears and a horde of ferals and zombie dogs just broke in and wrecked house. We thought it was a minihorde just showing up and ignored it then the next night happened and we were about to go do a mission then the same thing happened and we were like "ok we are not ready for this if this is a feature"
