First time staying in the wasteland
Is it normal on non-horde nights for the wasteland to give you basically a horde night every single night?

Me and my friend decided to move into the waste lands for the first time since we got the game (we wanted to be with our lovely trader jen)

We stayed 2 nights and both nights we got basically nothing done because zombies just flooded the area and ran at us like it was horde night.

LOL , with this version think of the wasteland as top tier zone, snow is right under it, then desert, with forest at the bottom. starting with the forest and going up there is increased loot chance and increased difficulty. so if you went from forest to wasteland you jump bottom to top tier in difficulty and loot.

I suggest you stick it out, stay away from you're base, get better weaps and make as much noise at night as possible, since it is mini horde night every night, plenty of xp :P

Don't bother trying to do a poi between 2200 - 0400, just try for as much killing as possible, when it's over and they despawn then business as usual with poi and building.

Think of the wasteland biome as if it were Trader Rekt(um) or even SCP-106. The whole landscape is a mean-spirited jerk.

Yes, that is normal.

Wasteland is intended to be very difficult.

No you’re supposed to be able to set up a base there. Now it is impossible

I think they made that change in Alpha 18, to make it so the wasteland sends zombies at you all night. I think you might be able to duck it however by staying at a high elevation or going underground.

I don't think they 0 in on you like horde zombies do.

No one can survive at night there on day 2+ with starter gear what are you trying to say? Beat the radiated cops and wights to death with a wooden club? That just doesn’t work

No, you're just too low level.

What does leveling up actually do though? Any turrets that use ammo are basically useless and when you level up your game stage increases and so does the numbers that spawn

they reworked wasteland to be a endgame zone. +200% loot and zombie difficulty if i remember correctly. SO obviously its gonna be harder, including the respawn times of zombies at night set to pretty much 0 days

My record for surviving in the wasteland from day 1 in A19 was 8 days. (permadeath)

In A20, after 6 attempts I can now last 1 night. With little to no armor, a bow and 50 arrows and maybe a pipe weapon, you just are no match for the non-stop swarms of zombie bears, zombie dogs, ferals and cops. Surviving the wasteland does not seem feasible early game, but it sure has been fun trying!

I play on zombies always run. i found that that night time is EASIER than daytime in all biomes, because i can just crouch at night and zombies stop chasing me because they cant see me. then i head shot them one by one with the bow. It feels like cheating. So to those saying night in wasteland is too hard... I say, how do you even die at night time. Lol

im not saying this to brag. im saying this to show you need to reconsider your strategy. You cant fend off infinite waves on zombies. you have to stealth around at night in the wasteland, which is extremely easy to do even while being chased. I run 0/5 on the stealth perk and am still able to do this. Most people fear the night but its actualy an advantage when you know how to use it.

Well I wasn't really saying you should load the map up and go running there lol, I think they start sending you there on t4 missions, at that point if you aren't geared for it then no don't setup a base. BUT if you're geared and have the books/lucky looter setup for more ammo from loot and you have a crapton of ammo then yeah go , it's fun :P

We play with block damage maxed for zombies and when we found a place to clear out and start setting up suddenly like 3 zombie bears and a horde of ferals and zombie dogs just broke in and wrecked house. We thought it was a minihorde just showing up and ignored it then the next night happened and we were about to go do a mission then the same thing happened and we were like "ok we are not ready for this if this is a feature"
