God/Invisible Mode

Is there a way you can tell if they are active without waiting to see if you get attacked ?

If you're in God Mode it will generally display this above your health stats etc in the bottom left corner of screen.

You have to manually turn them on. Do you often turn things on and then wonder if they are actually on?

You cant see your hands/weapons/tools if you are invisible.
And it's best to turn god mode by pressing Q after activating dm. Than you see god mode icon on the left.

I don't see an icon, is it supposed to be in the bottom left ? What does it look like ?

It says "God", in purple letters.

I have some kind of cheat mode where there are no zombies or animals, I thought that was the invisible mode, meaning they couldn't sense me so they never came near, but there was no zombies or animals anywhere. I never had an icon or any other indicator that God or Invisible modes were on or off. I found out the hard way today that it was off when I got swarmed on a helipad that I had blocked off with traps.

Exactly how are you enabling this "some kind of cheat mode where there are no zombies or animals"? Are you using some form of cheat program, or a mod, or the ingame command console? If using the command console, what commands are you using? You can help others to help you by providing all relevant details.
