So, to give yourself more perk points per level:
Find the 7 Days to Die folder in your Steam Folder.... Steam/steamapps/common/7 Days to Die
Inside that folder choose Data/Config When you open the Config file, look for the file called 'progression'. Right click on the progression file and 'Open With..' Notepad.
You will be looking at the xml files for progression in the game. Do NOT change numbers in this folder unless you are willing to accept the consequences for what you do, AND, any time the game updates, this file will revert to its original. If you do change your perk progression, you'll need to change it again if there is an update.
So, at the very top, in the first large grouping under <progression> look for the line that states <skill_points_per_level="1"> and change that number to 2... or whatever you want. You will find, after playing with this, that going over 2 will pretty much ruin the fun of the game. But, everyone plays as they wish. Further down in that grouping is yet another line, exactly the same, and you change that number to match.
THEN: at the top of the Notepad... use File SAVE!!! and, next time you level, you will get 'X' number of perk points rather than just 1.
Thank you so much guys, this did the trick really. I did something before the answer. The file xgui_menu had the 25,50,100,200 and 300, so I added a 1000% option, and yeah, the gamestage freaked out. Your solution is much better.
The reason i'm doing this is that I have very little time to play and i'd like to enjoy each version to the full, with short days :)
