Yes, you shouldn't have any issues with the CPU and RAM. You could probably support 10 or 12 players on that.

What hard drive setup do you have going there? That's going to be the biggest issue. Especially exploring with minibikes in a16.

If you want to know about a17, I should be able to give you an answer in a couple of days. Working on testing things now, but hitting some bugs in loading the dedi.

Hello SylenThunder!

Single 275GB SSD .

Which OS is better? Currently Windows is installed but i can dual boot Linux Debian or ubuntu.

I personally use Ubuntu. Have tried Debian, but it's a bit squirrelly.

For me, the benefits for Linux greatly outweigh Windows. I can set cron jobs for scheduled tasks that do things like server announcements, automatic restarts, auto-recovery if the server gets hung... The biggest for me is the ability to do live backups. With Windows it will easily corrupt region and player files if you copy them while they are in use. This isn't the case with Linux. I have a job that runs a backup every 2 hours, and will keep it up until I hit a certain cap on the drive space, or age in backups.

Plus, Allocs scripts make it stupid easy to manage.

The single SSD will be fine for now, but you'll want to upgrade that eventually if it gets more active.

I started out just hosting on server for a few friends on an old Core 2 Quad Q6600 with 8GB Ram and a single platter drive.
Then expanded to 2 servers and upgraded to one SSD.
Then expanded to hosting 4 servers with about 8 people, and upgraded to a server with two SAS drives in RAID0 and 16GB RAM.
Then I started running up to 8 servers, (now friends and co-workers), and upgraded my server to a Dell R710 with 72GB RAM.
Then I added a couple of public servers, and have increased the RAM to 80GB dual-matched ECC, replaced the SAS drives with a pair of 960 EVO's in Raid 0, and the old SAS drives are in RAID 0 for the backup data and log file storage.

It's been quite a trip, and with a17, I may find the need for a couple more EVO's to run RAID 4 and increase my storage capacity and speed even further. (Thankfully, you can often find them on sale for some pretty sweet prices.)
