Armored Zombies?
Do any of the zombie types wear armor? I am curious since I am unsure of the usefulness of AP ammo.

Yes, there are armored zombies, among them being soldiers - who are basically exactly what they sound like. (Ex)military who got zombified while wearing their military gear and combat armor. Also Demolitions guys who are huge military types. Both of them wear military helmets. And AP ammo makes a huge difference in how fast you can drop them. Really huge.

Both of these take a few weeks to start showing up in the game. they are a tougher tier of zombies, like radiated zombies are.

I'm mostly melee. But the only time I use a gun at all these days, is for headshotting Demo guys on blood moon night with AP ammo. Because that's easier and safer than trying to melee them in the head.

Thank you for your answer. I wasn't sure if their armor counted or was just a skin decoration.

Anyone know if bears technically count as armored? Seems like they EAT up the HP rounds.

They aren't. Armored targets make a distinct metallic pinging sound when your shot hits an armored portion of the body. Bears just have a crapton of health.

On default settings before difficulty adjustment, bears have 1600hp by default for a normal bear, 2000hp for the zom-bear.

For comparison, The normal sized basic zombies have between 100 and 200hp, the large sized ones like the fat ones and the biker have 250-300hp.
