Using motion sensors as an example, when wired directly together, either one seeing motion would open the door. However if you put a relay or literally anything else between the two motion sensors, the first motion sensor in line will instead determine if the second motion sensor is even on to sense anything.
So to do what you want, you need to do:
Power Source->Relay/othermethod of getting to the location->Motion Sensor or other trigger-> Motion sensor or other trigger-> Door or other object to be triggered.
We'll get to testing ASAP.
