How do I change view distance?

In video options the view distance is locked at medium and no matter what setting preset I scroll to it stays locked at medium. Is there a way to fix it? I tried a console command (sg OptionsViewDistance 12) that was posted on a guide but that just spits out an error. I'm on A19 experimental.

Must be changed while in main menu, not while in game. For future reference, many of the settings offer more information if you hover them.

Thanks. I didn't even think about trying it in the main menu because normally when a game has video options that can only be adjusted on the title screen it's something like screen resolution.
