Restrictions on Land Claim blocks?

I tried to put a land claim block on a POI I cleared out, but got a "ding ding" error notification. Are you not able to put land claim blocks on some POIs? I was hoping to turn this one into a base...

I have seen this also, So now the devs are even telling us we can't claim a POI. ever more encroaching as to How we play our game.

You cannot place a land claim too close to another land claim- Traders are now considered to be 'land claimed'. So even with a deadzone of 0, you cannot have your land claim blocks protected area intersect with a trader area, which is likely what was happening in your case.

Thanks But I was not any place close to a trader. The POI I wanted was a lone house on top of a hill about 2.?k from the closest trader.

New map and new game this morning after the patch?

If so it might be worthwhile to get a screenshot and make a bug report.

Thanks Jimmy, I just got a new comp and haven't figured out how to do a screen shot in game with Win 10 yet, Steam has never taken in game screen shots for me in 7d2d. just another fraked thing with this game.

Use the 'dbs' command in the ingame console, the outputted screenie will appear in the 7dtd directory in the Screenshots folder.

I think this may be the problem - I was outside of the trader, but the trader could have been too close.
