Lucky looter
I've seen a lot of opinions and videos etc on this and I would just like to know the dev's opinion on it. I personally think 25% at max level is crap but I don't know the programming behind it.
I also don't understand that on lucky looter googles you get a solid number vs a percentage on lucky looter. What's the difference in terms of code and why not give the skill lucky looter a solid number vs a percentage? Genuinely asking because I don't understand programming at all.

Not sure, but as far as the # vs % thing, I know that your base loot bonus goes up as your gamestage does, which means that a # based item (which is how the skill used to be) would taper off in usefulness later game (+25 loot bonus doesn't mean much when your base loot bonus is 500), while a % bonus doesn't.

Lucky looter perk was too strong according to the devs
Increased chances of higher loot or larger stacks of items
Increased looting speed
Easier treasure finding

So they nerfed the increased loot chances and moved treasure finding to it own perk

I tend to value the looting speed more than the minor increase in odds.

In A17 and A18 the increased loot amount raised the bottom end of your loot rolls
The system was still built around the 1-600 quality in Alpha 16

Ex so instead of rolling 1-600 you would roll 11-600 with +10 looting goggles.
Or at low levels 1-200 11-200 with +10 goggles

A19 lucky looter i have no idea but i hope this helps, and doesnt just confuse you more.

Loot is now generated on opening container, so have fun testing. (a19)
Today I opened about ~350 crates in different configurations of LL+/LL*/nothing/
And I was wrong, it works. Way too small scale to give conclusions.
It for sure gives you better quality items and can push gamestage. But so many strange things :/

Thank you for the replies folks.
I agree with them giving treasure hunter its own skill points but feel it just nerfs Lucky Looter even more.
I honestly can't see the point in spending so many points in it. No pun intended but yet it's there :D
If you look at any of the other gathering skills they give 100% bonus's at level 5. Perhaps Lucky looter should give 10% per level plus +1 loot bonus per level?
Although I'm still none the wiser as to what the difference is, in the solid point vs the percentage?
Absolutely love the game and no hate or complaining intended.
Genuinely confused by the difference and curious as to how it effects the gameplay.
