farming in this game was never really a thing in my view so I am not sure what you are on about with farming.
I do agree that simplifying crafting tasks is not a good thing for those of us who like crafting but with that said, farming was really always a bit too easy
Water on the other hand...
That being said I myself like the aspect of not having to constantly search for food. Growing it after a point is good time management, that allows you to focus on building and raiding for better things to setup for horde nights long term. Specially with revamp of the food/water system and item/tool use affecting it more, having a steady grown supply vs living off rng chance to find food.
I also do understand that seems more real to need a hoe to till ground instead of just crafting a farm plot. It was one of the aspects i miss in earlier alpha to be honest.
