Lets say it happened at game day 10 ...
Next BM can happen between game day 20-60 ...
Lets say the second BM happened on day 30 ...
Next BM can happen between game day 40-80 ...
And so forth and so on.
If you change the setting each time you continue game, it will calculate the next BM from the last BM. I think it's better to set the frequency lower than the range, IMO.
+ only.
This was explained by faatal here:

So if you have it set to every 30 days with a 20 day range your first Bloodmoon will be between day 30 and day 50.
Your second bloddmoon will be 30-50 days after that.
My batting average is dropping ... :/
Thanks for the correction.
I suppose if the UI put them side-by-side with arrows, maybe I could have read it better.
(excuses, excuses).
Blood Moon Frequency # >
I'm curious what settings you are going to use now?
I'm thinking for a more randomness (albeit frightening) ...
Blood Moon Frequency (1)
Blood Moon Range (20)
^^ That would randomize it better. You would technically have a 5% chance you could get a back-to-back BM event, which could be interesting. I'm going to try those settings because at the moment, BM is an XP farm (for me), so randomizing it a bit won't give me absolute XP gain throughout my entire scenario at a given set time.
Anybody using something different? (I'm curious now).
Do you think it's worth creating a modlet that adds more values in between?
Currently :
Blood Moon Frequency (0, 1, 3, 7, 14, 30)
Blood Moon Range (0, 1, 2, 3, 4, 7, 10, 14, 20)
I've wondered ... Frequency = 0, 1, 2, 3, 5, 7, 10, 14, 17, 20, 25, 30
(something like that ^^^)
IDK ... :/
This is my setup. It can happen any time. I have yet to have a back-to-back event but I agree that it should be possible if I'm understanding the settings correctly. I also have BM warning turned off for the surprise factor. You have to be ready every night.
Thanks for sharing your experience with a (1,20) setting. It does seem to be the winner for a total random BM scenario.
I salute you for turning off the warning ... ^:)
I'm a wimp and can be absent minded, so I need all the warnings I can get !!!!
Yeah, there's something going around, I felt like garbage last week for a few days. Hope you get over it sooner than later ... :)
You were the first person I thought of when seeing the BM freq/range setting. It's just a random thought I had to see if it's worth adding more to it. I dare say it's not worth having either setting above 30 because the player would be waiting forever if it rolls a "100" on a (1,100) setting.
Thanks for any work done, it's been appreciated.
Blood Moon Range: 0
That translates to Start a Blood Moon every 7th day after the previous blood moon (or new save start) with no variation in the range.
BMF = Blood Moon Frequency
BMR = Blood Moon Range
Let's take a few examples and play it out for 10 Blood Moons each.
No variation:
BMF: 7 - BMR:0 == Every 7 days no variation
BloodMoon# - Random Applied - Blood Moon Day Occurrence
BM#: 01 - RND: 0 - BM Day 7
BM#: 02 - RND: 0 - BM Day 14
BM#: 03 - RND: 0 - BM Day 21
BM#: 04 - RND: 0 - BM Day 28
BM#: 05 - RND: 0 - BM Day 35
BM#: 06 - RND: 0 - BM Day 42
BM#: 07 - RND: 0 - BM Day 49
BM#: 08 - RND: 0 - BM Day 56
BM#: 09 - RND: 0 - BM Day 63
BM#: 10 - RND: 0 - BM Day 70
Now let's try some variation:
BMF: 7 - BMR:3 == Every 7 to 10 days ( a range of 0-3 random).
BloodMoon# - Random Applied - Blood Moon Day Occurrence
BM#: 01 - RND: 0 - BM Day 7
BM#: 02 - RND: 0 - BM Day 14
BM#: 03 - RND: 3 - BM Day 24
BM#: 04 - RND: 1 - BM Day 32
BM#: 05 - RND: 1 - BM Day 40
BM#: 06 - RND: 2 - BM Day 49
BM#: 07 - RND: 3 - BM Day 59
BM#: 08 - RND: 0 - BM Day 66
BM#: 09 - RND: 0 - BM Day 73
BM#: 10 - RND: 3 - BM Day 83
1.open data folder
2.open xui_menu
3.open windows file
4.search for "bloodmoonfrequency" or "bloodmoonrange"
5. just add the numbers you want, dont forget to follow the format, its number(coma)(space) nxt number so the sequence should be 6, 7, 8, and etc.
