semi automatic means it automatically loads a new round into the chamber of the gun but doesn't fire the new round. pulling the trigger repeats the process of firing > eject empty round > load new round

Its a additional Imod you install, so the weapondamage raises.

But if you have something with more sense to fill the slot, it, ....,well, ...., make more sense

Depends on your playstyle. I pretty much always slot a semi-auto trigger in my automatic weapons because I prefer being efficient with my ammo, and I can click plenty fast as it is. Never run into anything I really need a bullet spray to take down since I always max headshot damage.
