which is good to point them towards hot or valuable locations, but it doesn't uncover the map; which is what OP is gunning for. Otherwise their friend might not have any idea that there's an ocean in the way of said point.
Certain server mods in Minecraft for example, allow you to view the currently explored map via a web browser. If such a thing exists for 7Days, I'm not aware of it.
You can do the same in 7dtd as well
Sweet.

Do not use when playing the game.
I love this map renderer. You can choose the scale, background and a few other things.
In a multiplayer game I'm in, my friend and I encountered some big lakes and I wanted to see how big. So I made a single player game of the same name as the MP game then explored it using god mode. I used the map renderer, reduced it to an uploadable size for Steam and posted the resulting map to my Steam artwork page for my friend.

Untried:
1) I have thought of making a SP game of the same name and copying the MP map to the SP game folder then using the map renderer. But I have not tried this yet so I have no idea if it will work.
2) Alternatively, if you are the host of the MP game, make a copy of the game and alter it to be a SP game (using a hex editor?) then use the map renderer. Again, I haven't tried this. The instructions for changing a MP to SP game (& vice versa) are on the forums here somewhere.
