Banned by EAC on LOCAL server
So i created a new dedi on 17.1 since our game was apparently bugged playing A17 with A17.1 (we did not have new functionality).

So i create a new server by modifying the serverconfig.xml

My wife try to join and... banned by EAC. It's a local server, password protected with only me and me wife. What can we do ?

Because i can just turn off EAC but why the ban ? Because i belive EAC is not only 7DTD

EAC acts up for many reasons.
Thrid party software, not compleetly installed EAC, un-updated windows or even minor damage to your hardware.

https://www.easy.ac/en-us/support/7dtd/contact/appeal/
Here she can appeal the ban to have it removed and see what might have activated it.
For now you can turn off the EAC for that server so she can still join.

Check the integrity of the 7DTD game files, reinstall EAC in the 7DTD folder and perhaps a stress test on the hardware. The site links to all of it.

And yes, it is annoying that EAC can kick you off when EAC failed to update correctly because of its own error.

Damn that sucks. Sorry to hear that. EAC really does suck. I've seen so many problems with so many other games and it just seems to become more and more of a problem than an anti-cheat solution. This is why we always, always disable EAC protection on any and all of our game servers we host that we possibly can because EAC is just too much of an invasive problem for everyone including game hosts.

Contact the The Fun Pimps support to explain the situation. You'll have to create an account if you haven't got one yet. https://7daystodie.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?68-General-Support

Also contact EAC to appeal your ban. https://www.easy.ac/en-us/support/7dtd/account/bans/

That's about all you can do at this point. Good luck!

EAC, if turned on, ban for forbidden software if active during eac is active.
No matter if you play offline or online

It bans NOT for a edited serverconfig
A EAC ban is showed in the Steam account as Developer ban

There's only WoW, twitch and steam games on this computer. My wife doesn't even know what a trainer is

Its allready strange, sure that it was not only a EAC error message ?

EAC normally need a few days, during the week to unban. If they unban at all.

Seems it was 10 minutes but i want to make sure she doesn't have problems with other steamgames (CS, Ark or something she plays). I tried to submit an appeal but the submit button doesn't work....

EAC like every Anti-Cheat software ever written makes mistakes. As a recent example I saw, many new systems have software for control fan speeds and keyboard/fan/LED colors, but EAC calls that a disallowed software {mycolor2.exe}.

Even Valve's VAC makes mistakes, some were very public and massive (like the one where an admin tool, only usable by server admins got a lot of serveradmins for a game banned, Valve eventually stopped banning admins for using the tool to monitor their own server, but never reverse the bans {all public info}).

EDIT: To be clear, this is why I dislike every AntiCheat software even though I know in the online world when dealing with random public people it is a necessity. However, I will always uninstall and not use such software except during the session I need it. (Yes, I repeatedly install and uninstall anti-cheat software for games to play online and do uninstalls immediately following such play sessions).
