I actually found the bike underwhelming in the brief time I've tried it so far. The stamina drain is negligible, which is great, but it's not much faster than running and I had a hard time finding spots on the ground where the bike would light up green to let me place it.
edit: was not aware of the multiple speed options on the bike, as subsequent commenters have pointed out. Correction accepted.
It's exactly twice as fast as running over long distances when you count stopping for stamina recharge (tested with cardio level 1, with cardio 0 it's more than twice as fast.). Bike is a nice gas-free alternative. But I suppose later if you have Cardio level 5, the advantage diminishes.
You have two speeds on the bike, as all the vehicles, normal and boost (usually your run key)
From patch notes; you better believe it when driving up and down those 90° slopes :)
Or maybe it's poorly designed and not well thought out and they should get feedback about it since the phrase "It's alpha" is for more than just telling people to shut up.
Gas.
