You can find it this elsewhere, so I suppose there's no point in me playing hard to get.

Concrete items. With a forge, cement mixer, and the cement perk, you can make stacks of concrete items and sell them for ridiculous amounts. All it costs is sand and small stones. The thing about this is that there are a dozen concrete type times - blocks, corners, ramps, etc. And the vendor will buy several stacks of each, since it counts as a different item type. So you can sell a truly huge number of concrete items in one week.

I consider this a mistake in the pricing that needs to be fixed, since all other building materials are cheap, and concrete blocks sell for more than perfect weapons, etc. Also it's sort of silly, in a roleplay sense, to think you and hop on your minibike with 500 blocks of concrete to take to the trader.

Machete Blades > all

Worth a lot and each Trader will buy them in huge numbers.

In my experience a given trader will only take 3 and it takes many weeks after that before he will buy more, since he will only accept 3 in his inventory at any one time and it takes 5 forevers for him to get rid of them.

Try beer. A stack of beer is worth as much as a purple machete, is a renewable resource, and doesn't require weapon crafting level 10. And a trader will take 3 stacks every week. Much more than machetes,

For each trader once per week sell him.

3 stacks of beer
3 stacks of grain alcohol
3 stacks of medkits (assuming you have a blood draw kit).

These are all cheap and easy to craft if you have a farm, and the above weekly routine will net you thousands of dukes per week.

EDIT: There's another class of craftables that can be sold for huge profit, but I consider this an exploit that should be patched so I don't include it here.

i make hundreds of thousands of dukes by mining oil shale and making gas then turning it into barrels
DominantEye Mar 11, 2018 @ 9:54pm
Traders will only buy a max of three stacks of anything, so you have to mix things up.

Also depends on how far along you are in the game (do you have beaker, chem station, etc.)

Gas barrels are great if you're in (or near) the desert.

Beer is good if you can farm hops, grain alcohol if you've got plenty of corn.

Glue is good if you've got a lot of bones available.

If you're selling single items, make sure you repair them first. Dusters and Puffer jackets are worth a lot if they're at 100%, even the low quality ones you find early on.

He will buy 3 stacks, which is 150 Machete blades @ 450 Dukes per blade = 67,000 Dukes. He will start buying them again when his stock replenishes (every 3 days, there's a timer when you visit). If you are playing RWG, you will have 8 to 10 Traders within 3 km of you, on average. It is pathetically easy to make 500k Dukes every 3 days. Pathetically easy. And that doesn't even count all the regular crap you will be selling him anyways.

I am sitting on a million Dukes right now because of this (it's day #34 on my server), without particularly trying. If I have a Forge doing nothing else anyway, I spew Machete blades. Minimal effort required. 1 million Dukes without even trying to get Dukes.

Try beer. A stack of beer is worth as much as a purple machete

I said Machete Blades, not assembled Machetes.

Beer is a terrible commodity for Traders. It stacks to 15 only, so you can only sell 45 every 3 days. Hops take ages to grow. And Beer is too valuable to sell for Dukes. Unless you have zero Stamina issues weilding Steel tools non-stop, Beer is super-useful to DRINK to maximise the player's time efficiency.

btw Machete Blades are almost certainly an exploit / bug since they deliver such a huge profit for your time and effort compared to anything else in the game. Expect a future patch to close this off.

You need to relax a bit. :) Concrete stacks to 500 and sells for 36,000 per stack. 3 stacks is 108,000. Now, there are 30 different concrete items you can craft and sell per trader. (blocks, corners, pillars, ramps, plates, etc) That's 90 stacks of sellable concrete per trader per visit. Which is over 3 million dukes at one trader on a single visit. Sorry :(

This only costs sand and rock you can find anywhere on the surface. The rock you can get just a few blocks down in any biome, and you can get 10x more of it in one night than iron. Concrete is not "garbage" compared to machetes.

I agree they are both exploits by subverting the economics of the game. But comparing them, concrete is easier for 2 reasons, obtaining a chest full of rock is several times faster than mining iron. And you can sell the above mentioned 90 stacks to one trader, not 3. Now calm down and go verify this in game for yourself.

Yeah, okay. :)

well then why not do both machetes and concrete? :D

Tires!!!
I know the op said craftable materials but, purple and blue tires, salvaged from the roadside, will net you approx 500 or more dukes, it all depends on the quality and tier of the tire. The better the tire you salvage the better the price he'll give you. As with everything else, if you flood him with tires then he'll buy them to a certain point then cut you off till the next trading cycle.
