"semiscripted" could mean a "seperate" difficulty curve in the sense that certain zombie/bandit combos will be stronger than others, spawned more frequent/various locations. The engine can increase preassure on the players by gamestage as well as with these "pre-made" attack-grps.
- the "demolisionmobs" targets defenses, wights and spiders rush in kinda mindset
wasnt clear there. bad engrish.. think smoker/hunter/gutterunner kind of mob, a mob that will kill soloplayers, unless they have the proper defense/player/AI backup. not endagme and not original. but it will encurage Multiplayer(longevity for the game) and it will give a reason to build in all areas(turretdefense, lines of barbwire etc etc)
Questlines with tasks like clean the zombies of there, rebuild this or that area, set up a hospital here or there, make contacts to NPC or realplayers in Multi, and have them come over to build virtual communities; survival is over eh, its a matter of rebuilding the world at this stage. Obviously it would be the opposite on PvP servers; establish dominance over this or that area. Task the players with infrastructure creation, clean and straight out raods.. doesnt even have to be actual queslines, it could just be the existing challengesystem expanded.
worldevents isnt endgame as such, but it will break the routines and give the impression of a nonstagnant world
A lot of the things is stuff we can do alrdy, but i will quote myself and remind that the build FOR the build is not enough. the build with a purpose(any purpose??) is.
some made it to the list, others simply isnt possible, and others is left out by choice. guess some ideas COULD be implemented, and some is alrdy in the cooker
first- i am playing on insane just to clarify this
you need to understand, no im not looking to make the game a total grinding where all i do all day is looking for feathers to make myself armed, I am looking for a decent challenge where zombies stand a chance against something as "medicore" as expolosive arrows, i literally feel like a god playing those arrows.
the problem i have encountered is the lack of features ones you achieve a certain point(which is tbh day 14 at best) ones you have forge you can snowball with no difficaulties whatsoever,
I am looking for zombies to retaliate against my forge, to become stronger and adapt to my strats.
I want zombies to take over my base and destroy EVERYTHING. i want to feel threathend every day.
whats the point of working so hard to make a bike if i can achieve nothing by having it? other than how cool it is
whats the point of working so hard making rifles if i can kill all zombies with regular bow?
whats the point of working so hard to make turrent defenses if all i need to kill zombies is spikes?
but thats not the real issues ive been facing. even if zombies were superior andby day 30 i would have ridicolous challenge killing them. i would still be bored to a point i want to quit. as i have nothing else to do, other than upgrade what i already have.
What i want? maybe a new zone with new elements and new everything that would requrie me to remake a base there, a zone with completely new zombies and new animals which can only be entered by certain item
ive stopped playing 7daytodie since im ade this thread, due to utter lack of interest
Well, it's an unfinished alpha game under heavy development. Lack of features is pretty much the only feature right now.
This sounds like it might be the best course of action for you. See ya around A17!
Okay. I thought I already answered all of these fully, maybe you missed the post. But here goes.
You'can't kill all zombies with regular bow. And you can't kill them with just spikes. :) When the enemies get tougher, irradiated cops and wights will take apart your simple defenses like they weren't there, and then kill you dead. And bows won't do enough damage fast enough (on insane, anyway) not even with 100% headshots (which you won't get when they are running). I promise you. And I already answered this, but I understand it became a long thread.
The problem you hit is because you got powerful faster than the zombies did. Probably because you died a lot or didn't kill many zombies. Both of which cause the game pace to slow down. (Game pacing increases much faster if you never die and kill lots of zombies.
if you sit around in your base not doing much the game tries to adjust the pace to your speed :) So there is a period where you don't feel threatened.
And the point of having the bike and looting is so that you will be able to prepare for that storm coming your way later. You will need the guns, and stacks of ammo. Especially with bandits (human raiders) coming in the next patch.
So basically everything you said in your entire post is because you judged the game after barely scratching the surface of it. :)
Part of your issue is this is a open world survival crafting building game. I suggest you try Duke Nukem or Doom. They are linear nonstop pew-pew shooter action against zombie looking things.
Must admit ive never tried with 25 % lootabundance. what respawntimer do you use for containers, if any at all?
But insane difficulty, 64x spawns, 30 days respawn on lootcontainer, 7 day airdrop, drop loot on death(no despawning bags), 50min days, BM 22-04, - 10pm-4am for those who havnt figured theres 24 hours in a day ;) . i dont recall my last death, at gamestage 4k.day 220 iirc, you do the math wheter i died a lot or not
I vouch for the OP, and theres more than one who feels the same way regardles of gamesettings. other have weighted in and expressed something similar
Theres a lot that really didnt needed to be mentioned let alone discussed, a lot can be dismissed once a17 partially of fully live up to the expectations we all have.
But one thing that is clear. we should be able to discuss and drop ideas for a game we care about. Some ideas might be far fetched, others look good on paper but just doesnt work in any practical way.
The game tries to be a lot, its not only this or that kind of game. Its a lot of many things, and its early acces whatever that mean. but its still in dev. Theres nothing set in stone.
Im sure that TFP would love you long time should you actually spark that idea, or clarify this or that problem, explain why you like this and why you love that.and mebbi they will be able to pull the DukeNukem players over here and give it a try. no need to send us that way
But im fairly sure a lot of people who consider themself "hardcore" gamers wouldnt grab a builder game. Just look at the memes around minecraft/roblox or Roleplayers in eg Rust.
It would be kool if i could go back to my l4d/pd2/RL/Civ5 friends and say ; hey guys! try this out man, it will challenge you in a way you havnt seen before. but i cant do that now..
I can only tell em im stuck in the process of repairing 700 dug down steelspikes I myself blew up cus the 50 bulletsponges was running in circles
So what type of base are you using?
This game is still in development, so there are several setups that trivialize the hordes for now until they are ( hopefully ) fixed.
If you are using one, you will trivialize the game quickly of course...
All I did was answer his questions honestly and openly and completely truthfully to the best of my knowledge in an attempt to be helpful. (Unless you want to report that you CAN kill a gamestage 3000 horde of insane difficulty irradiated ferals with a wooden bow?) I answer many questions here while I am bored at work. Like the guy who couldn't find the trader and the guy asked about mazes. So I am not sure why you are responding to me in particular, or if you made any point whatsoever in all of that, which was supposed to invalidate any of my answers? If so, please clarify what it was.
well. youve been a part of the discussion, i wouldnt leave you hanging dry alone ;)
what procced me was the suggestion to play DukeDoomEm Yea, it wasnt a biggie there. you can hold that against me if you want, you have my blessing.
but cmon. cant we have a talk about a thing we like and have honest concerns about without being put in a box that really isnt relevant, a box you obviously look down on. It makes you and your arguments look bad tbh, and it puts us into defensive positions when were not even accepted for our opinions.
Ive seen you around various fora on steam, cant place wich. but i bet we run into eachother again. Wouldnt it be better if we can say hi, long time no see, instead of ;Ohnoes!! weres the blockfunction cus that ash-hat is known headache(edit; read "me" ; anyone you meet on the web)
yea, its the web. theres much worse out there and this is a non-issue. I commented or posted only cus ive been here a few pages and have nothing better to do atm. and i wouldnt(with n and t) like this commnity to be "bugger-off-if-youre-not-one-of-us" . i dont say thats you, i dont even say there was a reason to write this.
i just felt like i had a friend for splitsecond here, a friend i wouldnt loose like all the others. plz stay friendly towards me, im very sensitive and cry when people dont like me /jk
no, cant mow down droves of zombies with a bow. but i can pile em up and burn em down with xbows/throwables not using any noteworthy gun.
editedit;, did i really just write that??
dang i need weed
lol, Cool. Okay, I think I was being honest when I say the game gets harder from where OP gave up. And he is judging the game prematurely. I think everything I said was honest and was intended to be helpful.
Look, I'm not trying to be anyone's enemy. If my close personal lifelong friend asked me to recommend a non-stop super action shoot-em-up fast paced combat game, I honestly cross-my-heart would not recommend 7dtd. I would recommend DukeNukem.
However, If they asked me to recommend a non-linear completely open world sandbox where you can play however you like, passive, aggressive, hide underground, or go nuts with a machete, build, explore, be creative, relax and decorate a room complete with painting the walls, and all around intelligent creative gameplay. I would recommend this game. And that is if I was talking to my closest dearest friend in the world.
We cool? :)
yea, it was a stoobid post tbh. was based more on fora-experience in general than the actual content of your post
intention was good enough, but timing and target was way off.
