Do surface ores, rocks, and other things respawn?

I saw something of a resource/loot respawn setting which I set to every 15 days.
Does this apply to ores such as iron or coal and rocks you find on the ground?

Nope. Once destroyed, they're gone. The respawning pertains to containers, car storage, lock boxes etc. The contents specifically. If you scrap a car down completely for example, it's gone. But if you leave it in a state where you can still loot or store stuff in it, the loot aspect will respawn eventually

chests from the trader quests respawn so i always mark the hole with a torch and once in a while ill go and loot it again.

what if you just damage them? do they heal after a certain time?

No. Cars, grass, surface nodes, trees, etc do not respawn unless t hey're inside a POI's bounding box and you get a quest for the location.

With that said; dont just mine the surface ores; Unlike A17 and before, surface ores mark actual deposits that are literally right underneath the surface ore. You can see the different texture in the ground right by the rock.

if a surface ore is in a point of interest will it respawn some time after being destroyed? What if I just damage it?

If a surface ore is near a poi it will only reset if you accept a quest involving that poi. Surface nodes in general wont respawn as that would mean our mines would randomly disappear.

No; and no. POIs will only respawn objects like cars and whatnot when a quest is started at that location. And nothing in the game automatically heals damage up except the player.
