Any hand-crafted maps?
I used to play Navezgane a lot before the update, and with the update appear to have come new points of interest. I fired up a randomly generated world and found a lot of buildings I had never seen before. I settled down in a small town and took over one of the POIs as my base. Then I started exploring a town in the biome over and found it feeling... samey. The town had obviously not been copy-pasted, but I found myself recognizing buildings. Sure, every now and then I'd see something new, but my current game really feels like the generation just reached into a very small grab-bag of all the new POIs. (which reminds me: I don't feel like I'm seeing any of the POIs from Navezgane generating on my world. Once, I went out into the desert and found one of the little "burrows" - the POI where you can find the Apache artifact chest, but that was it)

When playing Navezgane, the whole world felt unique. I could go to the next biome over and it would have a completely different town. You'd go into the desert and see the football stadium, the movie theatre, and the bank, and then over in the grasslands would be the hospital. Maybe generic buildings repeated, but major buildings didn't. Exploring felt rewarding and stimulating. Just the fact that I can recall the general layout of biomes is a testament to how unique and memorable they are and it's been months since I've played Navezgane.

I get that every map can't be meticulously designed, but I'd genuinely go back to playing Navezgane if I didn't want to miss out on the new POIs. I'm just tired of feeling like every town I go into is 75% of the same stuff I saw in the last one, just shuffled around. I don't suppose there's a Navezgane 2.0 somewhere, is there? I don't have very many sample worlds, but the random generator doesn't seem to be doing a good job so far, especially since it doesn't seem to be taking POIs from Navezgane (meaning there's a smaller pool to pull from, resulting in more repetition). I've been into three different towns so far and all I've seen is the Home Depot, the water treatment facility, the graveyard, the metalworks, the corn farm, the military base, the military base with landmines everywhere, and a few generic houses that were distinct enough for me to remember from the town over.

It's really killing my desire to go out and explore more towns and this is really bumming me out because it's making me almost not want to play anymore.

All (Or well, i can only personally confirm 'some') of the new POI's have been worked into Navezgane, iirc. Infact, there are certain POI's that can currently -only- spawn in navezgane; They can't appear in RWG at all.

I had no idea; that's awesome! I'll probably just go back to the Navezgane, then :x

You could try your luck with nitrogen. I believe the random gen in-game doesnt add certain poi's and mines which I have found in my nitrogen map. There are a lot of other options to customize the map.
