Where can you get Mechanical Parts and Electrical Parts?

I am trying to make a work bench and it was hard enough hunting down a wrench, and I wanted to make a bike so I need electrical parts. Where can I find them?

Dismantle electrical things with the wrench. Lights, Lamps, Computers, Wires, Tvs, spotlights, etc, etc,

Edit: for mech parts same thing, Dismantle with a wrench. Shopping carts, cars, alot of things that ostensibly would have moving parts.

Left click to 'attack'; If it's dismantleable, instead of swinging the wrench, it'll do an animation like it's trying to turn a nut or something, if that makes sense.

That's awesome I have been beating doors with wrenches this use is a lot better, also I just got attacked by the hugest wolf I've seen like 2x the size of a normal wolf or a zombie dog maybe like 1.5x bigger and it took 9 of my crossbow bolts and kept at me untill it eventually bit me and I died with one bite. What is it?

That would be a Dire wolf. They are fluffy. They are not friendly.

No kidding, if a normal zombie or a bloated tourist dies to a crossbow or bow with 4-5 shots on the hardest difficulty for me and the Dire wolf takes over 9 and keeps running I do not want to remain in my base in the woods anymore.

If you are playing Alpha 18 you don't need wrench to get mechanical and electrical parts, you get same ammount with pickaxe, stone axe or sledgehammer, dunno if thats a bug or intended...
