Where do you get motor tool parts?

I have auger learned and the motor tool parts are the only thing I have no idea about.

You find them looting and scrapping motors i presume..
Scrapping things like A/C units and fridges will probably produce motor
tool parts. Scrapping low lvl motor powered tools is probably your best bet though.

Unless there is a perk for it, I believe scrapping motors will just net mechanics parts. A/C units and heater rads will just net iron and a brass radiator. I believe the only way to get motor tools parts is to either buy them, or scrap from the same items that are crafted from them such as chainsaws and augers.

Scrapping engines gives you 30 mechanical parts. The only way to get motor tool parts is to either scrap another auger or chainsaw, or find the parts in hardware boxes. It's not a great system really, but that's how it works.

That's annoying. The only reason I want to make an auger is that I can't find one.

I got one for a mission reward from a trader, Tier 3. Be sure to be doing his missions.

The problem is I don't live close enough to be doing that kind of thing constantly. The nearest trader I know of is half a day drive.
