After spending hours trying to find a car battery, headlight, and electicial componets after finding the battery, i finally found out that you can simply use the wrench tool on cars to get them *smacks forehead and sad trombone sound plays*

It happens. In my first game I spent many hours looking for minibike parts. And then realized later they can be crafted on the workbench out of basic parts that I had tons of.

When you pick up an item in teh world for the first time, it definitly pays to read the information provided when you click on it with your inventory open. Doing that for the wrench would have saved you a lot of those hours.

You also want to go through your crafting menus for the backpack and workstations at some point so you have an idea of what you can craft, what you need to craft it and where it is crafted.
