How do I get 1.4b

I am on 1.4 now. Every time I try to join a game it says I am running the wrong version. In beta it only has 1.4. What am I supposed to do?

I'm not sure what you mean by 1.4b. If you're talking about the latest experimental, on the Betas tab select "Latest experimental - unstable version" (or something similar to that). It will be near the top of the list.

You mean you installed the unstable version and want to play normal with other servers?

If its correct, then you must install the latest STABLE version, because experimental are for testing, not for playing as latest patch.

Playing same save since 1.0. Upgraded save through each following version. After 1.4 I went to latest unstable and my save game became V 1.4 (b8). I have set my betas option back to lock my save game to stable V 1.4. If you have done that, you may find after going back to 1.4 from 1.4 unstable that your game seems to hang when loading at about the Initialize World stage (just before spawn option). Let it sit about 45 seconds, then hit F1 and type teleport xxx xxx where x=any coordinates. I just typed teleport 100 100. That will take you into the game without the spawn option. The next few times I loaded the game, I had to go through the same teleport process to get into my save game. After not playing over a day and loading game, it now gives me the spawn option. takes me right in, and save game in the save list remains green.

Letting you know my experience in case you meant you had gone to the latest unstable and need to return to 1.4 to join your friends.

Edit: I tried joining a random server, got in, and left. Top right of game continues to show as V 1.4 (b8) but did let me join a game.
